Title IX- A dangerous new weapon being used by King Lane?

A long-time, tenured Education professor has reportedly been removed from employment at TSU (on leave with pay pending a hearing for an appeal to be re-instated) after being found liable for Title IX (sexual harassment) by an investigation through an outside law firm hired by King Lane.  It appears that King Lane seems to have found a new tactic to bully, harass and intimidate his critics or critics of his supporters as this Education professor was well-known to be butting heads with the Dean of Education who is a supporter of Lane.
Who knows where King Lane came up with this creative idea...possibly our new General Counsel Ms. Hao Le advised him or possibly someone outside TSU advised the king.  We will likely never know how this idea came about, as it is certainly unusual to have an outside law firm do an investigation without going through HR first.
***We are not aware if HR was involved prior to outside investigators brought in with the Education professor.  They may have certainly done so and quite possibly King Lane was dissatisfied with the HR report and decided to use an outside law firm.  However that raises serious questions as to the competency and veracity of HR's investigative procedures, which was recently mentioned in the lawsuit we discussed on our post on November 3, 2018.  Also, at least in one recent case HR had already cleared another professor for a Title IX allegation and yet King Lane reopened the investigation through the same outside law firm EVEN after HR cleared this professor.   Seems a little odd.
***Unfortunately, this Education professor possibly did not have legal representation at the time of his interview with the law firm (we are not sure at time of publication if he had a lawyer with him in Austin).  One can only imagine what might have been if the professor had had legal representation next to him while answering questions or if he would have been advised not to go to Austin at all.
Using kangaroo courts are what is associated with a time in the South used against minorities as depicted most famously in "To Kill a Mockingbird"; one would have thought this type of appalling strategy would have been deleted from our history, especially at an HBCU whose own founders had to go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court to establish parts of our university.  Herman Marion Sweatt must be rolling in his grave right now, tears running down his face at this absolute sham of a legitimate investigation.
We as taxpayers do not even know how much this law firm is charging TSU to serve as the attack dog for Lane's childish vindictiveness.  The rumor as mentioned earlier is that this is not the only professor that Lane is coming after unfortunately with this type of cudgel. We are definitely aware of at least one other tenured professor who has been asked to meet with the investigators.
This type of investigation farce is exactly what people talk about when they believe that #MeToo has gone too far. We advise strongly against any faculty cooperating in such foolishness to make sure you are Lawyered up before you head to Austin.  Remember, anything you say can and will be used against you in a kangaroo court of law unless you have legal counsel present!
